...Connecting the world
Lexi Thompson, the celebrated LPGA star and influencer, didn’t mince words after missing the cut at the CPKC Women’s Open this week. In a candid post-match interview, she described the moment as “frustrating,” but added that the experience reignited her hunger to compete on her own terms.
Thompson admitted the result was disappointing, saying it “stung more than usual” because she’s selectively choosing events now. Despite the scorecard, she emphasized that stepping back from full-time play has given her something rare: freedom. “I’m still out here because I love it,” she said, “but now I play for the moments, not the grind.”
Since stepping away from full-time competition, Lexi has focused on finding balance—spending time with fiancé Max Provost, working on her fitness app, and, yes, binge-watching some Netflix (she’s currently hooked on *Pulse*). She shared how the break has made her more present both on and off the course.
Though her competitive appearances are fewer, that doesn’t mean she’s fading. Thompson remains scheduled for appearances at select majors, with a focus that’s sharper than ever. As she puts it: “I’ll always be a golfer first—but now I’m playing life, too.”
Lexi’s comeback isn’t defined by the leaderboards—it’s powered by joy, intention, and a renewed love for the swing.
